Welcome to ELF
Elimination of Leukaemia Fund (ELF), is a leading blood cancer charity that strives to make all blood cancers less devastating to patients, families and carers affected.
In the UK alone, someone is diagnosed every 15 minutes with a potentially life threatening blood cancer.
That’s more than 34,000 people every year. Or 94 each day. A blood cancer diagnosis can be devastating.
We focus on supporting the person with blood cancer, their family and carers, to ensure their continuing wellbeing. For this reason, we are striving for better support for all those diagnosed with leukaemia and other blood disorders. Because it’s even harder to get well when you’re worried.
We fund essential emotional support, give critical financial relief and fund agile, innovative and impactful research into better care and treatments for blood cancers.
We are continuously striving for better treatments and improved care for families devastated by a blood cancer diagnosis, and have been working for almost 40 years to improve the lives of patients with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other blood disorders.
We work with hospitals and clinicians and competitively select research projects which are going to make these diseases less devastating for patients and their families in the short term. In addition we have funded additional staff posts, ward and room refurbishments, new equipment and extensive other projects around the country to help patients and their families at this time.
Thanks to the generous support of individual fundraisers, payroll givers and family trusts, ELF have made a significant and lasting difference to leukaemia treatment in the UK.
