Welcome to ELF

Elimination of Leukaemia Fund (ELF), is a leading charity that works to make all blood cancers less devastating to patients, families and their carers.

A cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. In the UK alone, someone is diagnosed with a potentially life threatening blood cancer every 15 minutes.

That’s more than 34,000 people every year. Or 94 each day.

We focus on supporting the person with blood cancer, and those closest to them, through the physical, psychological and financial challenges that lie ahead.  Because it’s even harder to get well when you’re worried.

We fund essential emotional support, give vital financial relief and fund innovative and effective research into better care and treatments for leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other blood disorders.

For 40 years, ELF has been working to make a leukaemia or blood cancer experience less devastating and more manageable.

An important part of our work is our collaboration with hospitals and clinicians to improve in patient care. This includes funding additional staff posts, paying for ward and room refurbishments and buying new equipment.

ELF also funds research into better blood cancer care and treatments and offers fellowship awards in haematology.

Thanks to the generous support of individual fundraisers, payroll givers and family trusts, ELF has made a significant and lasting difference to leukaemia treatment in the UK.
